The terms and conditions set out here are intended to be as comprehensive as possible but may be changed from time to time. Any queries arising may be sent by email, using the contact form on the site.

Aims and Values

The Association for Professional Executive Learning – ASPEL – aims to provide cost-effective high-value services to both clients / solution seekers and providers / solution providers in the learning industry and to help make the market as a whole more efficient, effective and transparent.

As a Community Interest Company, ASPEL also provides services to the wider community of learning practitioners and clients through the development of a Community Fund.

ASPEL will not knowingly discriminate against anyone on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, marital status, race, religion or beliefs, sex, sexual orientation or on where they live.

Privacy

ASPEL undertakes to do everything in its power to ensure that subscriber emails are kept confidential. Specifically, ASPEL will never sell, trade or otherwise divulge the emails of its subscribers. It should be noted that subscriber contact details are kept by a third party – Aweber.com – which undertakes to safeguard these details.

Subscribers

A Subscriber is someone who has left their name and contact email in order to receive further information about ASPEL, its services, products and activities. In general, a subscriber is granted immediate permission to use the site subject to the terms and conditions set out below. Permission to access the site is at the discretion of ASPEL and may be withdrawn at any time.

Subscriptions are free and no charge will ever be made to subscribers without their prior knowledge and agreement.

Members

A Member is someone who has elected to use one or more services provided by ASPEL. Any Subscriber may apply to join ASPEL at any time and membership includes all the rights of Subscribers as defined above.

Membership is usually granted within 48 hours of application, although ASPEL reserves the right to refuse any application for membership and may also withdraw a membership without compensation.

Members agree to the terms laid out herein and voluntarily opt in to the services, processes and procedures established to promote business development, provide relevant resources, and facilitate networking amongst the members.

Membership is awarded on an individual basis and no individual may represent more than one organisation at any one time.

A member can modify his/her profile entry and is responsible for ensuring that the information in the profile is both true and correct. ASPEL may request that a profile be amended to comply with the expected norms and standards of the Association.

In compliance with the Data Protection Act, ASPEL operates a Suppression List (a list of subscribers who may not be contacted for any reason). Members may request to have their name and email placed on the Suppression List.

Any member wishing to have their name and email removed from the suppression list and be reinstated to the Active List should apply by email to the administrator.

Membership Services

Services available to Members include:

  • Access to the Knowledge Base (Learning / Resources Area of the site).
  • Unlimited access to the Help areas of the site
  • Access to comment forms and discussion forums
  • Access to the Jobs / Projects area of the site

Credentials of Suppliers

ASPEL takes no responsibility for any services – including advice – or products supplied by its Members or other third parties.

The ASPEL Website and Affiliations

The information provided on this site implies no guarantee or warranty, either express or implied, of any kind. Neither may ASPEL be held liable for any service or product which may not comply with the legislation and regulations applicable in the user’s country.

It is up to the user to determine whether any of the information or materials provided infringe copyright or patents and whether they are fit for purpose.

ASPEL reserves the right to amend or alter any element of the web site, including it services, pricing, content and downloadable files. ASPEL also reserves the right to monitor the data, information and files stored on Member subsites and to remove without notice any data, information or file that is erroneous, illegal or in contravention of the  Association’s policies.

The ASPEL website provides links to third party sites, including providers of services and products. In certain cases, ASPEL may recommend a particular product or service and receive a commission for any sale generated through the ASPEL link. However, ASPEL will always recommend a product or service based on direct experience and / or research and not merely to generate commission revenues. ASPEL reserves the right to change its recommendations depending on developments and publications.

Links to other sites are provided as a convenience and at the user’s own risk.

ASPEL takes no responsibility for the compatibility or usability of any downloaded materials, product or other software whether from the ASPEL site, a Member’s site or a third party site. Any user downloading materials, content or resources do so at their own risk and exonerate ASPEL from any liability.

Member Websites

ASPEL takes no responsibility for the content, truth or accuracy of any information provided in Members’ websites. In their own websites, Members are expected to:

  • provide a true and accurate reflection of their experience, competencies and clients
  • maintain their sites to reflect any changes to their personal details or other information.
  • ensure that laws and ethical guidelines are adhered to. If, in ASPEL’s opinion, a website is offensive in any way or contradicts the ethos of the Association, ASPEL reserves the right to delete the link to a Member’s website without prior notice.
  • ensure that all content and materials used within their website, whether they be photographs, logos or any other work that may be subject to third party ownership are used legitimately and are appropriately attributed.
  • ensure that any testimonial is attributed and that permission has been given for the testimonial to be posted in accordance with the Data Protection Act(s) in force.
  • ensure that any content or articles in their site or linked to their site do not make unfounded claims or false accusations.
  • conform to the EU Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications which forbids any form of spamming – the sending of unsolicited email for the purposes of selling a product or service

Jurisdiction

The ASPEL site is subject to the laws of the United Kingdom.
