Members of the Advisory Council fulfill a key role in helping ASPEL decide on, develop and implement its strategy. The Council meets twice a year to review progress, propose adjustments and advise on key services for its members.

We are both honoured and delighted to have such distinguished Advisory Council members, including:

Filippo Addarii

 

Filippo is Executive Director of the European network of third sector leaders – EUCLID – and Director of International Leadership at ACEVO, the British association of chief executives of voluntary organisations. In these roles he has developed networks to empower civil society across Europe, Asia, Africa, US and Middle East. He is a member of the Citizenship Structured Dialogue Group of DG Education & Culture, the European Commission. He founded GlobaLab, a culture-focused association which promotes global civil society development through innovative intercultural projects. He co-founded the magazine Ecologist Italy and the Research Centre of Contemporary Social Movements for the Feltrinelli Foundation. Filippo has degrees in Philosophy (Bologna) and Third Sector Organisation Management (Urbino). He has also undertaken post-graduate studies in New Generation CEOs (Cass Business School), Social Entrepreneurship (INSEAD) and Strategic Management for Leaders of NGOs (Harvard).

Clive Bane

Clive was Director of Human Resources at the University of the Arts London until his “retirement” at the end of 2011 . Clive is an experienced HR professional who has built up particular expertise in the fields of employee and industrial relations, leadership development and training, organisational development and reward over the past 32 years. Clive has been a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development since 1986; he gained an MBA from Sussex University /Roffey Park Management Institute in 1994, and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2005. Prior to moving to the University in 1995, he worked for the British Council in various HR roles, undertaking a wide range of internal consultancy assignments in Europe, Asia and Africa. Clive has chaired the Board of Educational Competencies Consortium Ltd a member-owned company in the business of selling  role evaluation services in Higher and Further Education. Clive recently helped set up a new company, B3sixty, to provide Investigation Services in employment and education, and he also undertakes HR consultancies and projects

Victoria Bouix

Victoria is Client Director, senior facilitator and executive coach at  Mannaz International Leadership Institute based in Paris. Of Swedish nationality, Victoria has spent most of her adult life  studying and working across USA, France and the UK. She has over fifteen  years experience working in the field of leadership and talent  development, holding line management positions on country, European and  global level. Across these roles she has successfully led and  implemented large-scale change initiatives to transform corporate  culture, reinforce functional integration and facilitate globalization  mainly across the professional services and beauty industries.With a solid expertise in designing and implementing innovative  leadership development programs, Victoria also has considerable  experience conceiving brand image for people solutions and corporate  universities across cultures.In parallel to her daily professional activities, Victoria set up her  own leadership consulting practice in 2009 – Chiterra Ltd. In the same  year, she also took on the role of ASPEL UK Country Director.Victoria obtained a Master’s degree in clinical coaching from INSEAD and HEC in 2001.

Dr. Liza Castro-Christiansen

Liza is a Visiting Academic Fellow at Henley Business School, University of Reading in the UK, where she supervises Doctoral associates researching within the areas of Leadership, Change and HRM. Liza has been Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Aarhus Business College in Denmark since 2001. Prior to joining academia in 2001, Liza worked as marketing manager in the education, hotel and IT sectors in Denmark for 14 years. Liza has experience in the management of marketing and sales, key accounts, projects and HR. Liza is the HR Ambassador for Denmark in the Academy of Management’s HR Division, she previously served as Chair of the Henley International Alumni Advisory Board and Governor in Henley’s Court of Governors, and the Chair of the Henley Alumni Association of Denmark. Liza orginally comes from the Philippines where she obtained her double degree in Business Administration and International Studies.

David Clutterbuck

David is one of Europe’s best-known and innovative writers and thinkers on leadership and the foremost authority globally on mentoring. He has a rare talent for making complex topics understandable and for presenting them with humour and insight. Rated by leading HR Directors, academics and commentators as one of the top 25 most influential thinkers in the field of Human Resources in the HR Magazine sponsored survey and described by The Sunday Independent as second in the list of top business coaches in the UK, he is the author of more than 50 books, including the best-sellers The Winning Streak and the classic Everyone needs a mentor. He has helped hundreds of senior teams across the world find the Massively Difficult Questions that lead to deeper understanding of themselves and their businesses.Co-founder of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council which he now represents as Honorary Vice-President, he is visiting professor at Sheffield Hallam University, where he is a member of the Mentoring & Coaching Research Group, and also Oxford Brookes University. He leads the international consultancy, Clutterbuck Associates, which specialises in helping organisations develop greater capability for learning dialogue.

David Demetrius

David founded and is the President of the European Management Development Institute (Emadin), which specialises in the provision of training, mentoring and coaching of senior executives in all aspects of corporate strategy and corporate governance. He has over 30 years experience in management of and consultancy to companies (from SMEs to large multinationals) throughout Europe, the United States, Australia, Africa and Asia. David is a member of the board of directors of several European companies and from 2000 to 2007 was the Chairman for Continental Europe of the Institute of Directors and a member of the governing Council of the Institute in the UK. He is also an honorary member of the European Foundation for Management Development and a member of its Corporate Services Steering Committee. He is a fully qualified accountant and has degrees in mathematics and business as well as being a fellow of several professional institutes. He is currently completing his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Business Administration.

Susanne Kremeier

Susanne worked for 19 years at Dow Chemicals Europe, where she was Senior Leader, Human Resources, responsible for organizational development, the HR aspects in mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures as well as leading projects to improve Dow’s quality of leadership. Prior to her role in Human Resources, Susanne spent 14 years in sales, purchasing, product and market management at Dow. Susanne has recently established people & results, a company specializing in leadership coaching, organisational effectiveness and change management. Susanne has a MA in economics from the University of Aachen, Germany, an MSc in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck College, UK, and a swathe of other professional qualifications, including: Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument accreditation, Certification as a professional coach from the International Coaching Academy, Team Management System accreditation, Facilitation Skills Certification, Process Communication I and II, and Six Sigma Green Belt in MAIC (continuous improvement) and DFSS (design for quality).

Dr. David Lamond

David is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business & Law at the Victoria University of Melbourne, and Corporate Consigliere to Emerald Group Publishing. His experience incorporates nearly two decades in management education at Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Sydney Graduate School of Management, and the Nottingham Business School. Previously, he had a successful career as a senior public sector executive in New South Wales. David’s qualifications include degrees in psychology and public management and a PhD in managerial psychology. He is a registered psychologist and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society. David has published two books, 12 book chapters, and more than 60 refereed journal articles and conference presentations. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Management History, Consulting Editor with the Asia Pacific Journal of Public Administration, and member of several Editorial Advisory Boards. David also consults extensively both locally and internationally, to business, government, and the not-for-profit sector.

Jørgen Thorsell

Jørgen is Executive Vice President at Mannaz A/S (founded as DIEU, The Danish Leadership Institute) with responsibility for international executive development activities out of Copenhagen, Brussels, London and Berlin. He has spent more than 20 years with Mannaz after a number of years in the construction industry. He initiated the extensive international expansion of the Institute and provides consultancy in the area of executive development and strategy execution. He was a key contributor to initiatives leading to the winning of the European Quality Award and being elected Best Place to Work in Denmark. Jørgen holds a DBA in Strategic Management from the US International University, San Diego, and an MBA from the University of San Francisco. Furthermore, he holds a BSc and an MSc degree in civil engineering and planning from Technical University of Denmark. Jørgen is also Chairman of the Board of Directors for Renon Rengoring.

Flooris van der Walt

Flooris is Head of Group Talent Management at OC Oerlikon. He is both South African and Swiss, and has lived and worked in both countries. After graduating first in Psychology and then in Education, he started his career as a psychotherapist. On joining industry, he did an MBA and followed it up with the AMP at Harvard. After gaining experience in general HR at both HQ as well as Plant environments in South Africa, he was transferred to Switzerland as an international consultant in Management Development and Management Education. In these positions, he gained experience in Asia-Pacific, Central Europe and North Americas. In 1999, he was appointed as Head HR Management of Holcim Group Support and then in 2004 be became Head Corporate Recruitment and Appointments, where he oversaw the recruitment and selection of Top and Senior Managers. In 2005 he became responsible for People Development issues worldwide, within the IT and Internal Auditing functions, as well as the gateway for Processes in HR for the Holcim Group.
