About ASPEL

ASPEL is the first association designed from the outset to be global in scope and of benefit to all professionals working the field of executive learning and development. ASPEL brings together the broad range of services that a web-based portal can offer with the advantages of a highly experienced and active community of executive learning professionals.

ASPEL’s mission is to advance the knowledge, skills and capabilities of professionals in the field of executive learning, supporting their contribution to the sustainable development of institutions, companies and individuals worldwide.

As a community interest company, ASPEL provides support - including funding – to those who are in most need of leadership and management development, especially in low-GDP countries.

ASPEL is led by a Board of Directors and an Advisory Council which provide strategic guidance and support.

In order to accomplish our vision, we combine the benefits arising from membership of an association with the benefits of a web-based professional network by:

  • Developing the most comprehensive database of learning providers anywhere. ASPEL provides a ´match-making’ service so that clients can find the highest- quality solution providers at the most cost-effective prices
  • Providing a rich and comprehensive knowledge base, to assist professionals in their roles whether that be as an in-company learning and development manager or as an independent solution provider. Experienced members are encouraged to comment, answer questions in the forum and generally assist others. Recent arrivals to the profession can get a flying start and access the information they need when they need it.
  • Collecting information and conducting research on the executive learning industry worldwide to provide the background and context within which executive learning professionals operate. Members are encouraged to submit news items and any other information they feel might be of interest to the community. Their news may be included in the ASPEL webzine.
  • Organizing webinars and meetings so that members can meet each other, share their expertise and develop their networks.
  • Arranging strategic partnerships with other associations and institutions to provide members with benefits such as discounts, access to support and advice, and assistance in organizing learning events.
